Dropping a second router into a dead zone often makes things worse, not better, if it isn't planned around your building's actual RF environment. Overlapping wireless channels between access points create interference, and consumer mesh systems repeating a signal wirelessly lose bandwidth at every hop, which is why a "boosted" connection can still feel sluggish. A real fix starts with understanding why the dead zone exists in the first place, not just adding more radios into the same problem.
A proper site survey maps your building's actual construction, concrete, steel framing, low-E glass, and metal HVAC ductwork all attenuate wireless signal differently, and identifies existing wireless interference from neighboring networks or other equipment on the same channels. From there, access points are placed and channel-planned specifically for your floor plan, not spaced out evenly on a guess.
For any coverage that actually matters, we design access points to be hardwired back to a switch, not daisy-chained wirelessly, since a wired backhaul avoids the bandwidth loss that comes with every wireless hop in a mesh setup.
Reliable wireless coverage depends on the structured cabling running behind the walls just as much as the access points themselves. That means properly run and terminated copper or fiber cabling from your network closet out to every access point, camera, and switch location, sized and routed to support the bandwidth you actually need, today and as your network grows.
